Minutes of the Annual Meeting held on Monday May 19, 2025 held in Harlaxton Village Hall, Harlaxton at 6:00 pm
The Annual Parish Meeting is not a Parish Council meeting. It is the opportunity for the Parishioners of Denton to find out about current matters of interest to the community and to meet representatives of local groups and organisations. This meeting will be presided over by the Chairman of the Parish Council and facilitated by the Parish Council for the benefit of the community. The meeting is open to all residents and we welcome you to attend and speak about any matters of local interest.
1. Chair’s Welcome. Councillor Vince Aldred addressed the meeting & also tendered his resignation.
2. Apologies - none received.
3. To confirm the minutes of the Annual Parish Meeting held on Monday 27 May 2024.
4. Report from the Chair - Given by Councillor Vince Aldred prior to his resignation.
5. Report from the County Councillor - Charlotte Vernon.
6. Report from the District Councillor - Robert Leadenham.
Open session for parishioners to raise items to take forward for consideration by the Parish Council.
Various items were discussed but the main topic of conversation was the status of the Village Hall & how to help with forming a new committee. Several members of the community present offered help with the project. Councillor Casement-Thomas offered to head up a group to help with the running of the project. Councillor Amy Leadenham & Acting Clerk Sue Bellamy offered their services & support. In the interim Councillor Casement-Thomas offered to set up a WhatsApp Group & meeting with all the volunteers.
